Link building is an important aspect of search engine optimization. Search engines view a link as a vote of confidence in a website or webpage. The more links from related sources the greater the webpage's importance.

When requesting links, use an email template that can be easily customized for specific requests. To locate prospective link partners, search Google or Yahoo for related keywords or phrases.

When looking for partners use this no-nonsense guide to request links from related websites.

Related
The content on the webpage you would like to link to should be related to the content of your page. However, competitors are unlikely to be willing link partners, regardless of the quality of your website. Look for websites that are related but not competing.

Current
The content on the website you are requesting the link from should be up to date. A new link on a page with a lot of outdated or inaccurate content will not typically benefit your website (or reputation). Valuable The content on the website you are requesting the link from should also contain valuable and unique content. This goes both ways; if you want people to link to your website, you must also provide useful content.

Seek Quality
Only request links from quality websites. If a website is cluttered with advertisements and is not a quality website, it is unlikely that the search engines will not value the link much. Make every effort to seek out quality websites.

When sending an email request be sure to include the following:

Personalize
Personalize the email request, be sure to mention the domain of interest and perhaps a specific web page for the link exchange. Personalizing the email will help the reader discern that your email is legitimate.

Compliment
Describe what you like about the website (be specific). Tell the webmaster that you feel their website has value, and that is why you would like a link to them and why they would like a link to you.

Explain
Explain why a link to your website would be relevant and beneficial to a specific website visitors. In your email request, detail how customers would benefit from the information on your website.

Be Specific
Provide specific anchor text and the exact web page URL and web page description on your website that you would like the webmaster to link to. Reciprocate and Thank If appropriate provide details about any links back that you have provided to the website. Also, be sure to thank the webmaster for considering the request.

Building links is an important aspect to increase the popularity of a website.

Increase Conversions With Optimized Landing Pages

What Is A Landing Page?

A landing page is a web page that visitors from a specific traffic source land on. They are heavily linked to individual marketing campaigns – for example, the landing page for a PPC campaign is the page that visitors land on when they click your PPC ad. All marketing techniques lead visitors to a specific page and, as such, each could have a different landing page. The performance of a landing page is essentially tracked by the rate of conversions that it generates and there are numerous factors that combine to create an effective landing page.

What Should A Landing Page Do?

In short, a landing page should convert visitors to perform your desired action; this desired action could be the purchase of a product, clicking on a link, or signing up for a newsletter. Landing page success is a measure of conversion rate expressed as a percentage. This is the number of conversions as a percentage of the number of visitors. Simply tracking the number of conversions is not an accurate measure because many other factors also determine the number of conversions you will receive – a popular ad will generate more visitors but it is largely the performance of your landing page that makes up its conversion rate.

What Makes A Landing Page Successful?

• Accessibility -- A landing page has to be accessible. Good loading times are an absolute must and the most effective marketers know that while Broadband Internet speeds have become more popular, many users are still connected to the Internet via a 64k modem. Pages should also be tested on various browsers, using a number of screen formats, and on different operating system formats. The more people that are prevented from properly viewing your site, the greater your bounce rate. Another facet of accessibility concerns users that are physically disabled including those with poor eyesight.

• Usability -- Page usability has become even more of a factor since the obvious rise of Web 2.0 websites. Surfers expect more interaction with the pages that they visit. The important thing for the website owner is that any and all applications and features on the page must work and work well. They should also facilitate an easier or more enjoyable or information stay on your site. Shopping carts, contact forms, and other applications are considered normal practice and they have to be simple but effective to improve conversion rates.

• Persuasive -- The web page copy should be concise and persuasive. It should be geared specifically towards the visitors that are most likely to land on that page, and it should convey the benefits of your product and service to those users. Identify and promote your USP (Unique Selling Proposition) and CTA (Call To Action). Once you have persuaded visitors the copy and page content should then take your visitor to the next relevant stage in the process.

• Brand Development -- Your website brand is important and the home page provides an exceptional opportunity to develop, promote, and maintain your brand. This is done through good design, the use of an appropriate narrative voice, and through other online branding techniques.

• Relevancy -- Everything about the landing page should be relevant to the visitor. This is perhaps the most important facet of an optimized landing page. First, you should determine the likes and dislikes, as well as the wants and general requirements, of the visitors to that landing page. Then write the copy, include relevant links and applications, and ensure that those visitors are able to quickly and effortlessly navigate around all of the elements.

Optimized Landing Pages Improve Profits

There's a time and a place for indirect selling techniques and a time and a place for the direct sale. Depending on how visitors land on a page on your site, it is vital that you determine whether they are looking for information or are more likely to want to delve into the purchasing process and then take action. Optimizing your landing pages will improve conversion rates and, therefore, help increase your profits and performance levels.

Eating Habits And Foods Help You Lose Weight

1. Be cautious of how many calories you are drinking in a day. Many of us drink a cup of coffee with cream, a soda and perhaps some juice. We can be drinking 300 calories or more a day. Replace this will calorie free drinks like water, diet soda, or crystal light. Carry a water bottle around so that when you are thirsty you can reach to it instead of something high in calories.

2. Plan your meals When we don't take the time to plan what we are eating, and eat what is convenient we sabotage our weight goals. Take a some time one evening a week planning, shopping for and preparing meals for the upcoming week. If you don't have to rely on fast food and last minute decisions you will be able to eat much healthier.

3. Eat five small meals a day. Eating five small meals a day instead of three, and then snacking all the time too helps to keep our metabolism up so that we can burn more calories a day.

4. Eat breakfast. The sooner you eat, the sooner your metabolism will get going. Though you may think skipping breakfast is cutting calories and will help you loose weight it actually slows down your metabolism. Your body thinks it is starving, unaware of when the next meal might be it starts storing fat.

5. Remove one problem food. We all have our vices. If you find that cutting out all snacks and treats is too hard just cut out one. Find the one that you eat the most. Perhaps it is ice cream each evening, regular soda, cookies, chocolate, one thing that is adding a lot of calories and take it out. You may not have the will power to say no to everything delicious, but you can say no to just one item. This alone may cut a few hundred calories a week. You can also do the opposite and only allow yourself one splurge item. Say no to everything tempting, but pick one thing you can't live without. If eat healthy all week, treat yourself you your favorite thing at the end of the week.

6. Stop Mindless Eating. Finishing your kids sandwiches, munching on candy from the candy dish at work, samples from the grocery store. These things add up. Just stick to what you have planned for the day. Just because it is there, or offered doesn't mean you have to eat it.

7. Chew sugar free gum. Not only does gum prevent you from snacking because you already have something in your mouth. Some say you can actually loose a few pounds a year just because of the calories you burn while chewing.

8. Change your milk. If you are drinking whole or 2% milk switch to 1% or skim. If you usually only use milk on cereal you will hardly even notice a different, and you will save some money as well.

9. Change your salad dressing. If you are smothering your veggies in full of fat ranch, your veggies are doing you more harm than good. Switch to a light vinaigrette or fat free dressing.

10. Add fiber to your diet. You can buy an inexpensive fiber mix drink at your local grocery or drug store. They even have tasteless ones that can be dissolved into food now. It will help you feel less hungry and has advantages to help you digest and process food better to help you loose weight.
