Is That Email URL Legitimate?
If you have an email with a URL that you're not sure if it's a good site or not, "don't" open it. Instead, copy and paste the URL into Google or any other search engine and see what the results are. (Be careful when you copy and paste because it's easy to cause a click which would open it.)
I did this with one email's URL since I was curious about it's contents and Google revealed that it was a bogus website when no results were given. So I deleted the email without having opened the URL and thus protected my computer.
It's Always good to "Never" click through URLs in emails that come from people and services that you don't know. And it's even better to Never open those emails at all!
Email protection can save you time, stress, and money from damaging your computer if the email has a virus, worm, or spyware.
One good source to help you protect your computer is SpyBot. Excellent service! A Must for all online users!

3 Ways To Dramatically Improve Search Engine Rankings (Part 1) There's lots of talk about ways to improve search engine rankings, and it's clearly a very emotive subject with many people amongst the so-called 'internet SEO (search engine optimisation) experts' fraternity, all of whom often have differing opinions about what gets a website 'ranked'.
>From someone who has had all (yes all) his websites ranked on page one in the Top 5 search results for the Top 3 keywords I have targeted (and these are competitive, high traffic keywords), let me share with you now my thoughts on how to get highly ranked and get your websites listed amongst the top 10 search results for your keywords.
I have a simple 3-Stage Approach to getting ranked high. Here, in Part 1, is my first Stage...
Stage 1. Pick The Right Keyword Phrases:
Firstly I ensure I target keywords that have traffic. What I mean by that is it staggers me how many people think it's all about getting high up the page by being highly ranked, with total regard for the actual amount of traffic a keyword or phrase gets! What's even more staggering are these 'SEO expersts' that offer their services, usually at exorbitant rates, with promises like "we'll get you appearing in the Top 10 Results on 100 pages" when they don't have any idea what keywords are being identified by you as their client.
Let me make this perfectly clear - anyone can have a Number 1 position for a keyword! ...anyone - just type in a keyword with say 5 or 6 words in it (known as a longtail keyword), and it is likely to have no competition that you could dominate the Top Number 1 spot for that search. But what you have to ask yourself is how many people are actually typing in that 5 or 6-word phrase? Probably no-one I suspect. So here's the thing - yes it's easy to get ranked high, like Top 3, for many keywords, but the first thing you need to do is identify are there a whole bunch of people looking for that keyword, because if there isn't, then getting ranked at even Number 1 spot isn't going to make the slightest difference to your business sales, because even at Number 1, if no-one's typing in that keyword phrase and searching for it, then there's no-one that will ever see you at Number 1.
So, before anything - before you 'optimise' your website (I'll discuss this in Part 2); before you look to get ranked high in the search results; before you do anything, make sure that you are clear on the keywords you are going to target actually have traffic, by which I mean there are lots and lots of people typing in that keyword phrase into a search service looking to find you. Get your keywords right first! ...and make sure they are keywords people are using in their searches - in lots of searches!

8 Tips When Selling On Ebay

1. Avoid putting a reserve on the item. This is a DON'T unless you really cant afford to sell for the start price. People can make a decision on whether to bid or not depending on whether there is a reserve or not. What to do without a reserve? Just start the item at a price which you would be willing to sell for. That way, even if someone snipes your auction in the last second you are still bringing in decent cash. With a reserve, no-one will snipe your auction at all.
2. A Picture. A picture is STILL worth 1000 words. A picture can also save you a flood of questions like "Just exactly what shade is that red car you're selling?". This way you won't lose you're cool either. People like to see what they're buying before they make a bid. Make sure every auction you put up has a photograph with it, as professional as possible.
3. Do some research. If everyone is selling Ipod Nanos for £10, then sadly, yours won't sell for £200. See what everyone else is selling them for, what people are buying them for, and then decide on your price.
4. Shipping. Learn about it. You need to find the most reliable, cheap shipping method that you can. Shipping is all down to the seller and once you've chosen a shipping method, you need to state that in your auction, and make sure the buyer knows how much shipping is.
5. Offer as many payment methods as you can. It's hard to, if you really hate paypal, tell people that they can pay via it - but without it less people will buy. I only buy via paypal, and therefore I like to be offered a full slate of options when it comes to buying. So that's what to do when you're selling. Think about what you would want in terms of payment options and then put everything up there anyway.
6. Feedback Matters. Focus on getting a lot of good feedback before trying to sell something big. It sounds harsh, but if you're living in the city, with no feedback and you're trying to sell a car radio, the chances are most people will think worse of you and not get involved.
7. Act professionally. Don't lose your cool, and act like you're running a company. Ebay is just like any other shop, and you should offer a superior customer service. Even if this means typing in your description :
"THIS IS A MODEL CAR - 10cm x 5cm"
And then answering questions like:
"Is this a model car? How big is it?"
It'll all get you a better chance of a sell.
8. Finally, and most importantly, life is harsh. You will get negative feedback for doing nothing wrong, you will get no bids on a brilliant item, you will sell items for less than they're worth and you will probably get scammed at some point. Try not to, but if something like that happens, do what you can to resolve the situation and move on.
Hopefully now you can sell successfully. Get out there and start earning!"
